New Mexico Big Jim is a hybrid developed from a Peruvian chile and various crosses. They are considered to be medium hot (2500 - 3000 Scovilles). Big Jim was introduced in 1975 by Dr. Roy Nakayama of New Mexico State University, and the chile is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the World's largest chile: pods are known to grow in excess of 17-inches long and are very popular for making/stuffing chile rellanos. 100+ seeds to a package; enough to plant a medium garden.
